Delays

17/01/12 Delays. Says it all really. The meeting with the social worker (sw) has been delayed. Feeling sad. Trying to keep positive. Ho hum ... the journey of an approved prospective adopter is not an easy one....

20/01/12 found out the cause of the delays today and am even more dissapointed now :-( our sw is trying so hard for us and yet, how can i put this politely, others are not working with the same degree of urgency. We remain hopeful that floreana will be ours but it is so frustrating.

23/01/12 we are still wiaitng. we feel that the childs sw has been unreasonable and has caused delays in the matching process. We feel disempowered. we do not want to complain yet we feel we have a right to complain. I have even looked up the social work code of practice as i am so discruntled.. This waiting is torturous and unnecessary. it is so unfair on all of us... We are vary vulnerable as potential parents, vulnerable to the whims of the sw. Yet the child 'floreana' is even more vulnerable.
