Individual/Family Membership
Adopters, prospective adopters and long term foster carers can join as an individual or family member to receive information and support. Members can choose to receive Adoption Today magazine only, or Adoption Today and our family finding magazine Children Who Wait, which includes access to Children Who Wait Online.
Individuals or couples can join as prospective adopters, foster carers or adoptive parents and can choose which membership rate to access.
All members receive our Adoption Today magazine, can access our support services and benefits as described below and become part of a community of adopters regardless of where they are in the adoption process.
Prospective adopters can also choose to receive our family finding magazine Children Who Wait, which also entitles them to view Children Who Wait Online. It is possible to upgrade to the higher rate of membership at any time, by calling our office with a payment of £29. This upgrade fee is for the remainder of the membership year until the original membership renewal date, even if this is less than one year.

All rates detailed below give one year’s membership from joining date. We are unable to give refunds for membership stopped before its expiry date.

Benefits of Adoption UK membership
Lending Library
Adoption UK’s mixed media library contains more than 500 books, videos, tapes and therapeutic games covering a range of adoption and fostering issues. These can all be lent free of charge (excluding postal charges) to Adoption UK members.
- Adoption Today magazine
- Adoption UK’s bimonthly magazine Adoption Today includes features on all aspects of adoption, including information about adoption agencies, new developments in practice and research, and reports from Adoption UK support groups.
- Children Who Wait magazine
- Adoption UK’s family-finding magazine Children Who Wait is published each month and features profiles of children currently looking for new families.
- Online Community Members' Area
- The Adoption UK members' area is a private area of the site providing information and resources that are available only to Adoption UK's membership of adopters and prospective adopters.
