Why fundraise for Adoption UK?

Adoption UK provides adoptive parents with the vital support they need to help adopted children to thrive in a secure, loving family. With your help, we can make a real difference to the lives of adoptive families.

Why do adoptive families need support?

Adoption has changed significantly since the 1970s. Today, there are very few relinquished babies. Instead, the majority of adoptions involve older children removed from abusive or neglectful families.

All adopted children will have experienced some form of loss or trauma. This  difficult and traumatic start to life can lead to emotional, attachment, developmental, educational and behavioural difficulties.

Adoptive parents often require ongoing, specialist support to help them meet their child’s needs. However, as the provision of adoption support services is not a statutory entitlement, many adoptive families find themselves struggling in isolation or, sadly, some experience their adoption breaking down completely.

Adoption UK therefore exists to provide adoptive parents with the vital support they need in order to make their adoption succeed and for their child to thrive.

Why does Adoption UK need your support?

Adoption UK is a registered charity that does not receive central government funding. We rely on the generosity of our members and supporters.

There is much more to be done, Adoption UK continues to develop its services to adoptive families. Every penny raised by our supporters helps us to support adoptive families and to ultimately ensure the best outcomes for children.

On behalf of the families we support, thank you for your generosity.

With your help there is no limit to what we can achieve!

Your kind donations enable us to continue with our valuable work and help us to change adopted children’s
lives - now and in the future.

From everyone at Adoption UK and the adoptive families that we work with, thank you for your help.
