Assistant Editor (Children Who Wait)

 

Full-time (35 hours per week)
Pay scale: £18,474 to £22,581 per annum, plus 3% pension contribution.
Location: Banbury, Oxfordshire
This role is part of the small team that produces Children Who Wait, a leading national magazine and online family-finding service for children in care. The Assistant Editor will provide editorial and design support to the team by processing referrals of children’s profiles from adoption agencies. Key parts of the role include flat-planning, design and layout of pages of the magazine, as well as copy-editing and proof-reading work.
Requirements include: strong knowledge and experience of InDesign software, excellent editing and proof-reading skills, attention to detail, quick and accurate typing and an ability to prioritise and work flexibly. Good communication skills and a passion for our cause are essential.

If you are an adoptive parent who could offer a regular commitment of between 6 and 15 hours per month to provide information, support, encouragement and guidance to other adopters, we would love to hear from you.
