Maryam Lane's Blog

My name is Maryam Lane. My husband and I started on the adoption path in 2009. In 2011, our toddler son and daughter were placed with us. We are relatively early into placement and loving every moment but have experienced many of the aspects of parenting adopted children that we were warned to expect. This has been a huge journey for us and the children and continues to be so but I am happy to say that family life is full of love, laughter and plenty of noise! An avid writer for many years, I hope to contribute an Adoption UK blog that will show some of the realities of parenting adopted children and greater understanding for others that it isn’t like parenting ‘any other child’ but is still a wonderful, rewarding and amazing experience. And one I couldn’t recommend more. I hope you enjoy reading.
