Kieran McNamara's Blog

Lisa and I became parents for the first time in 2004 when Ellie came to live with us - and again in 2007 when we adopted Christopher. Since then, what started as a simple need to be a family has become much more. We have plenty of ordinary in our lives, but heaps of extraordinary too. And that's what adoption has been for us: an extraordinary thing that's happened to ordinary people. Sometimes it's amazing. Sometimes overwhelming. Sometimes terrifying. But always precious. I'm going to use this blog to share some of what we've been through together, and to show how close we came to losing everything. Perhaps there's room for a bit of myth-busting too - poking holes in some of the common adoption misconceptions that don't want to go away.

Adoption week every week
